Location: SETU ArenaThe Introduction to Gaelic Games Coaching (ICGG) Award is the introductory award for coaches of Gaelic games. See promo video here. The course is aimed at beginner coaches from across the Gaelic games codes of Hurling, Camogie, Gaelic Football and Ladies Gaelic Football. The ICGG Award course has been designed to support new coaches develop a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, competencies, and values for coaching the child, youth or adult playing population. The Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games award is structured around three key elements:

The SETU Waterford GAA club is one of the most popular and successful clubs on campus. The Club operates on the GAA one club model and has teams across the 5 codes of Gaelic Games (including Hurling, Football, Camogie, Ladies Football and Handball). We cater for playing levels from Inter County players to students wishing to try the sport for the first time. The club promotes participation across all five codes with 11 teams competing in over 25 competitions. We pride ourselves on having some of the best coaching and managements in place to better aid our teams to perform to their best. Students can also get involved in other aspects of the club such as coaching, administration and analysis. It is a great club to be involved in as all the members are friendly and welcoming. The GAA club puts great emphasis on all players enjoying themselves win or lose. The SETU Waterford GAA Club is based in the SETU Arena which is a state-of-the-art sport complex with 3 grass pitches and 1 astro pitch located close to the Cork Road campus. The club is continuously open to new members who are looking to develop their skills or simply keep fit and have fun. Please see below the GAA teams available: Senior Hurling, Intermediate Hurling, Fresher Hurling X 2, Senior Football, Fresher Football, Senior Camogie, Intermediate Camogie, Ladies Football, Men’s & Women’s Handball.
How to Register? To fully activate your membership, you must pay your membership fee which covers your GAA Insurance for the year. This must be paid prior to training or competing for the college. Register on https://waterford.sportsclubsandsocieties.setu.ie/club/gaa and fill out the GAA membership form. Make sure you opt in for club emails as this is how you will be contacted about events/ training etc. If you have a medical condition then you will need clearance from your GP before you can register. Pay your registration fee, the cost for membership is €4. Make sure you sign up to receive club emails in your preferences. When you have the payment made and your GAA membership is “pending” your account will be activated (during office hours 9am-5pm).
Following this you will need to register with the SETU Waterford GAA Club on Foireann.ie A step by step guide is attached below in the Safety Statement to guide you through the process.
