The Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games (ICGG) Award is the introductory award for coaches of Gaelic games.

The course is aimed at beginner coaches from across the Gaelic games codes of Hurling, Camogie, Gaelic Football and Ladies Gaelic Football.  

The ICGG Award course has been designed to support new coaches develop a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, competencies, and values for coaching the child, youth or adult playing population.

The Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games award is structured around three key elements:

1. The Coach | ‘Being a Coach’, ‘How to Coach’, and ‘Preparation for Planning’.
2. The Player | ‘Who are you coaching?’. Whether they are child, youth or adult players, male or female and address the need to be inclusive.
3. The Game | a focus on movement for Gaelic games, skill development and games.

• ICGG Dual Code: 9 Hours 

Details:

The course will take plae in the SETU Arena from 9am-2pm on Friday 20th & 27th March. Attendance on both days is manditory to complete the course. This course is open to members of the SETU GAA club (Waterford Campus).

We are delighted to share that the SETU Waterford campus GAA club is running International GAA over 4 weeks in March/ April. This will be an introductory programme tailored for international students where you can learn the history and the skills involved in each of the games that make up the Gaelic Games family in some fun and enjoyable practical based session. The sessions will take place on Wednesday 12th,19th,26th March and the 2nd April. The full details of the programme can be seen below and in the attached poster. The programme will take place in the SETU Arena each Wednesday with a shuttle bus provided from the Cork Road campus to bring students to and from the Arena. The shuttle bus will depart the Cork Road campus at 5:40pm and return following the session (Full shuttlebus timetable attached). We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to our first session. If this is something you think other students would be interested in, please spread the word.
